Someone in Canada just scored a massive Lotto Max second prize
Someone in Canada is waking up to life-changing news after scoring a huge second prize in the latest Lotto Max draw.
The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Aug. 8, and the winning numbers were 07, 08, 18, 28, 31, 36, 41, and bonus 01. At the time, the jackpot was worth $60 million, but no one won the top prize. However, one lottery player will still take home an impressive windfall after matching six of the seven winning numbers and the bonus number. According to PlayNow, the winner is now $245,304.90 richer after purchasing their lucky ticket in Ontario.
After they matched six of the seven winning numbers, 39 people will split the third prize, each taking home $6,289.90.
Although there were six Maxmillions prizes, only one person won a prize after they matched the winning numbers 22, 26, 28, 35, 36, 46, and 47. The lucky winner is now $1 million richer after buying their ticket in Ontario.

In B.C., no one won the Lotto Max Extra prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the Encore prize worth $1 million.
The last time someone won the jackpot was on Friday, July 11, when two lottery players from Quebec split the $70-million Lotto Max prize.
Jacques Deschamps, a 60-something entrepreneur living in Montérégie, Que., and Wilhelmina Van Leeuwen, a retiree from Montréal, were shocked to discover that they were each $35 million richer.
Deschamps said heâll use his winnings to spoil his family, travel, and buy a condo in MontrĂ©al. Van Leeuwen plans to use her winnings to travel first class. Read their full story online.
The next Lotto Max draw is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 12, and the prize is worth $65 million, with eight Maxmillions prizes.
