An Ontario woman is probably one of the few Canadians in their 20s who can actually afford a home, and that’s all thanks to a huge lottery prize.
Barrie resident Stacia Konieczny is in disbelief after winning a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler.
The 20-year-old plays with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) regularly. She usually plays once a week, with her favourite games being Crossword and Bingo.

“I find these games to be the most interesting,â she shared. Her weekly plays paid, awarding her with her first major win.
Konieczny found out about her lottery windfall while hanging with her family at home.
“We were having a nice time and catching up on our day when I decided to check my tickets using the OLG app on my phone,â she recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings. âI scanned this ticket and⌠holy!â
She says she couldn’t believe her eyes at first.
âWhen I saw the prize amount, I was in total disbelief and my face went completely blank,â she said. âI thought to myself, âWhat am I seeing? How can this be real? This is insane!’â
Konieczny revealed the amazing news to her family and a close friend.
âThey were so supportive and happy for me,â she smiled. âMy friend said, âDrinks are on you!ââ
She says that the experience of winning the lottery at such a young age has been “unreal.”
âItâs pretty crazy if you ask me!â the 20-year-old said with a laugh.
She’s planning to do something that not many people her age can do â put her lottery prize money toward a down payment on a house.
“I feel extremely fortunate and grateful. Winning is such a nice feeling,â she concluded.
