A lucky Canadian lottery winner is proving that lightning can strike twice after scoring a rare second win.
Can’t even win the lottery once? Well, Paul D. is now on his second and even bigger win. The 60-year-old Keswick, Ont., resident has been playing for decades, and he finally got lucky and won his first major prize seven years ago. Paul managed to win the Lottario jackpot on March 30, 2019, scoring a $241,066 prize.
But that’s not the end of his winning streak.

While at a Shell gas station this year, Paul decided to buy the same ticket that brought him luck the first time ā a Lottario ticket.
“I was at home when I checked my tickets,” he recalled. “It’s become my Sunday night routine.”
Although he wasn’t new to the experience, the win still caught him off guard.
“When I realized I won big, I froze and stared at my phone in disbelief. It felt unreal!” he shared. “My heart was racing, my hands were shaking, and my mind was all over the place, going from disbelief to excitement.”
He won another Lottario jackpot in the March 28, 2026, draw, but this time it was an even bigger prize worth $737,505.80.
Paul found himself at the OLG Prize Centre once again, where he was asked what the experience had been like.
“It feels absolutely incredible. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude,” he said.

Paul said he’ll use his windfall to pay some bills and to finally buy his dream car: a Shelby GT500.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Major Mackenzie Drive East in Markham.
