Canadian hits jackpot using same lottery numbers for past two years
An Ontario man proved that consistency pays off, even when it comes to playing the lottery.
Mississauga resident Oshane Robinson said “yes” to Encore, and it paid off. He matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the July 1, 2025, Lotto Max draw to win $100,000.
The construction worker has been playing with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for about eight years. For the past two years, he has been playing exclusively Lotto Max, using the same lottery numbers for each draw.
“I always like to play so I have a chance to win,” he shared. Now, the 37-year-old is delighted to be celebrating his first big windfall.

“When I had my ticket validated at the store, the clerk told me he couldn’t pay out my winnings because I was a big winner,” Robinson recalled while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “At first, I was confused, but I spoke with an OLG representative over the phone and confirmed that I had won $100,000.”
His cousin was the first to find out about his huge lottery win.
“I told him first because he plays back home. He was overjoyed! Everyone I shared the news with was so happy for me,” Robinson said with a bright smile. “They told me I deserve the joy this win brings.”
The 37-year-old had to take a beat to process the incredible windfall.
“This is a surreal and emotional moment for me. When I first discovered I had won, I could hardly sleep for five nights straight. This win truly feels like a blessing,” he said.
Robinson said he plans on investing the lottery prize in his future, enjoying the financial stability and freedom it will provide.
He bought the winning lottery ticket at Shell on Dundas Street East in Mississauga.
