Valentine's Day win for Canadian who scored $1-million lottery prize

Valentine’s Day turned out to be extra memorable for one Canadian lottery player who scored an impressive win.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, Feb. 14, and at the time, the Gold Ball prize was worth $30 million. No one won the top prize, but someone in Canada managed to match the White Ball winning numbers 76235387-01 to win the $1-million prize. According to PlayNow, the ticket was sold in Quebec.

There was also a $5-million Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Prize up for grabs, but no one won the prize during the draw. However, two people managed to match five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number to win the second prize. Split between them, they each won $123,977.60. The tickets were sold in Ontario and Alberta.

A total of 94 people will split the third prize, and each of them will walk away with $1,107.60.

There were also 20 Guaranteed $50,000 prizes to be won, and six of the winning tickets were sold in B.C., one in Alberta, eight in Ontario, and five in Quebec.

In B.C., no one won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra Prize, and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.

The last time someone scored the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize was when home-care aide Cora Cuthbert from Kisbey, Sask., won $18 million in the Jan. 7 draw.

The next draw is on Wednesday, Feb. 18, and the Gold Ball is worth $32 million.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Feb. 13, and the winning numbers were 03, 13, 26, 36, 41, 42, and 43, with bonus number 37. However, no one won the $50-million top prize or the $220,061.60 second prize.

The third prize was split between 42 winners, each of whom will receive $5,239.60. There were also two Maxmillions prizes to be won, each worth $1 million; however, no one matched the winning numbers.

In B.C., no one won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize and similarly in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.

On Jan. 20, someone in Ontario scored a $15-million Lotto Max prize. The next draw is on Tuesday, Feb. 17, and the jackpot is worth $55 million.
