
For one Canadian lottery player, life is about to get a whole lot more exciting after scoring a major jackpot win.
The life-changing lottery draw took place on Friday, Aug. 21, and the Lotto Max winning numbers were 01, 04, 15, 18, 24, 25, and 51, with bonus 13. The winner managed to match all seven numbers, instantly becoming a multimillionaire after scoring the coveted $55-million jackpot. According to PlayNow, the lucky ticket was sold in Quebec.
There was also a sizeable second prize to be won, and the prize was split between two tickets sold in Alberta. Split between them, each one will receive $99,964.40. A total of 45 Canadians will share the third prize, each taking home $4,526.90.
There were four Maxmillions prizes, but no one won a $1-million prize.
At the time of the draw, there were also 55 MaxPlus prizes, each worth $100,000. Four winning tickets were sold in Quebec, three in Ontario, two in B.C., and one in Edmonton, Alta.
One B.C. resident is $500,000 richer after scoring the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize. In Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore prize.
The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on July 24 when a winner from Ontario scored the $25-million jackpot.
The next Lotto Max draw is on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and the prize is worth $10 million.

Someone in Alberta is $1 million richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball Draw. They matched the white ball winning number 30526413-01, and the ticket was sold in Calgary. No one won the top prize worth $16 million.
Similarly, no one scored the $5-million Classic Draw Prize. However, someone did score the second prize of $158,661.90 after buying their ticket in Alberta. Sixty-six people will split the third prize, with each one receiving $1,009.40.
No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra, but someone in Alberta scored the $250,000 Extra prize. No one in Ontario won the $1-million Encore prize.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and the prize is now at $18 million.
