“I took the ticket to the till and did a little dance,” shared David of the moment he knew he won big, after checking his ticket on the self-scanner.
“I called my mom immediately!”
David bought and validated his ticket at Devonshire Vape and Cigars on Esquimalt Road in B.C.’s capital city.
The Victoria resident added that he doesn’t have specific plans for his $2-million prize, but that he plans on celebrating by treating his mom to a nice dinner.
When he was asked how it feels to win, David replied that it is still “really surreal.”
B.C. residents have been lucky in the jackpot lately, with several life-changing wins.
An everyday trip to the grocery store came with a surprise for a Canadian lottery winner, and she’s ready to spread the life-changing jackpot around.
Pastora R. of North Vancouver, B.C., won a $500,000 Extra prize on the Lotto 6/49 draw held on April 18, 2026.
