A Quebec lottery player is finally ready to hang up his hat after a life-changing lottery win.
Daniel Gosselin, a resident of the Manicouagan region of CĂ´te-Nord, closed out his summer with a bang when he won the grand prize of $1,000 a day for life in the Grande Vie lottery game.
He bought his lucky lottery ticket for the Aug. 25 draw on the Loto-Québec gaming website and received his prize during a celebration at the Casino de Charlevoix on Sept. 2.

Fourteen Quebecers have won $1,000 a day for life since the start of this year, according to the executive vice president and chief operating officer of lottery games at Loto-Québec, Isabelle Jean.
“The Grand Vie top prize of $1,000 a day for life was won three times recently in Québec,” she added.
Gosselin has been a regular player of Grand Vie online for the past three years. It was his wife who first suggested that he try his luck.
The retiree has a habit of checking his emails first thing in the morning to see if any of his lottery tickets have won. So, he found out right away that he was getting his hands on the grand prize of $1,000 a day for life.
Once he confirmed the win after logging into his online account, he immediately called his wife to share the amazing news with her.
The retired Hydro-Québec employee was still working occasionally in his field when he won the lottery. Gosselin now plans to stop working completely and move closer to his children and grandchildren.
Thanks to his big win, the 60-year-old will soon be trading the CĂ´te-Nord hydroelectric dams for the Saguenay River.
