One Canadian lottery player is on an unbelievable lucky streak, winning his second lottery prize in under two years.
For 30 years, truck driver Bogdan Karwowski of Shelburne, Ont., has been playing the lottery, and his luck finally turned around in 2024 when he became a millionaire after winning in the April 13 Lottario draw.
Karwowski was shocked to learn that he won $1,032,525.40.
“I called my wife to tell her I was coming to see her. I scanned the ticket and showed her the win. She said, ‘Congratulations, you won $1,000!'” recalled Karwowski.
“I asked her to look again, and we were so shocked. I still didn’t believe it was true. When we told our children, they were so happy.”
He said he planned to pay some bills, go on a family vacation, and put money away for his retirement.

Karwowski, 62, tried his luck in the lottery again and proved that lightning can strike twice.
After purchasing a Lottario ticket, he managed to score an Encore second prize in the Nov. 15, 2025, draw. Karwowski won a $100,000 prize.
“I checked my ticket on my phone and thought, ‘Oh wow, I won again!'” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto yet again. “I told my wife right away, and we were both in disbelief. We shared the news with our kids, who were both so happy.”

And just like his first win, he plans to celebrate by taking a well-deserved vacation with his wife, family, and friends and this time the group is heading to Mexico.
The winning ticket was purchased at Conwinience Store on Centennial Road in Orangeville.
