An Ontario retiree has her family to thank for her first big lottery win.

Bolton resident Anna Caradonna won a $50,000 top prize with Instant Bingo.

She has been a loyal lottery player with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) since the days of Wintario. She enjoys playing a mix of draw-based and Instant games.

“This ticket was a gift from family,ā€ she shared while at the OLGĀ Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall.

The day Caradonna won started out seemingly ordinary. That all changed when she went to her usual store to check her lottery ticket.

ā€œThat’s when I discovered my big win,ā€ she recounted. ā€œThe cashier scanned my ticket and told me I won $50,000!ā€

The 67-year-old called her family to announce the amazing news.

“I told them their gift paid off,ā€ she laughed. ā€œThey were all very happy for me. It feels great!ā€

Caradonna plans to treat herself to a vacation in the future with her lottery windfall.

She bought the winning ticket at Shoppers Drug Mart on Queensgate Boulevard in Bolton.
