Canadian man vows to keep working after $5M lottery win

A Canadian man says he plans to keep working, despite recently netting a massive $5-million lottery win.

Laurentiu Bordianu of Edmonton, Alta., won $5,000,002 earlier this month on a Lotto 6/49 and Extra draw with a ticket he purchased on Play Alberta.

Bordianu told Play Alberta that he had visions of lottery success, having numerous dreams about one day hitting it big.

“I’ve actually had this dream quite a few times, and then I woke up in the morning and was so sad, and now it still doesn’t feel real,” he stated when asked about his reaction to the win.

“I feel like you’re reborn and you’re given another chance to start fresh,” he added.

Bordianu will take some time to decide how to invest his money. He does plan to upgrade some of his family’s living arrangements in the Edmonton area while continuing to work.

His win was also one for the record books. His prize matches a May 2025 Lotto 6/49 draw for the biggest jackpot ever won on the website.
