Fourteen Quebec residents shocked their small community of Basse-Côte-Nord when they won the $50 million Lotto Max jackpot on Sept. 5. The winners had purchased a share in a Formule groupe Lotto Max ticket, hoping for a chance to win the top prize. During an event held for the winners, each one received a cheque for $3,571,428, prompting one group member to retire on the spot.
The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, Sept. 23, and the jackpot is now worth $31 million.
