Two Canadian lottery players each won $1 million this weekend

After winning big over the weekend, two fortunate Canadian lottery players have several reasons to celebrate.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, January 24, and at the time, there was a $15 million jackpot to be won. According to PlayNow, the winning numbers were 22, 27, 29, 35, 39, 45, 46, and bonus 33; however, no one matched the winning numbers.

No one will take home the second prize worth $159,065.90, but 35 people did come pretty close. After they matched six of the seven winning numbers, the winners will split the third prize, each receiving $4,544.70.

The winning Lotto Max Extra numbers were 11, 20, 23, and 86. However, no one won the $500,000 top prize. Similarly, no one won the Encore prize worth $1 million.

The last time someone won the Lotto Max jackpot was on Tuesday, January 21, when someone won an astounding $60 million. The winning numbers were 13, 15, 21, 35, 36, 42, 47, and bonus 38, and someone matched all seven.

According to OLG, the life-changing ticket was sold in Etobicoke, Ontario. The next Lotto Max draw is set for Tuesday, January 28, and the jackpot is now worth $20 million.

The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Saturday, January 25, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $24 million. Although no one won the jackpot, someone did win the White Ball prize worth $1 million after they matched the winning numbers 59727078-01. The ticket was sold in Ontario.

The Classic Draw numbers were 01, 14, 19, 27, 32, 40, and bonus 37. However, no one won the $5 million prize. One lottery player matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number and won the second Classic Draw prize worth $220,742.10. The winning ticket was sold in Ontario.

No one matched the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000, but another lottery player in Ontario is now $1 million richer after they matched the Encore winning number 0655924.

The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Wednesday, January 29, and the Gold Ball is now worth $26 million.
