Canadian lottery player wins $25 million Lotto Max jackpot
It was a life-changing draw for one Canadian lottery player who just became a brand-new multimillionaire.
The recent Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, January 31, and the winning numbers were 02, 08, 09, 16, 27, 37, 38, and bonus 30. Someone beat the odds and matched all seven winning numbers, winning the $25 million jackpot. OLG said the jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Toronto’s Willowdale neighbourhood.
“This is the second big Lotto Max jackpot won in Ontario,” states a release. “The first was the $60 million Lotto Max won after the January 21, 2025 draw. In 2024, there were a record-breaking 11 jackpot wins in Ontario, totalling $525 million in Lotto Max jackpot prizing!”
According to PlayNow, no one won the second prize worth $164,700.20. However, 34 lottery players will split the third prize, each receiving $4,844.10.

No one won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra top prize or the $1 million Encore top prize, but someone did win the $100,000 second prize. The ticket was sold on OLG.ca.
The next Lotto Max is set for Tuesday, February 4, with an estimated $10 million jackpot.
No one won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth $28 million, but another lottery player in Canada will likely be celebrating a big win after they matched the White Ball number 77752748-01, winning $1 million. The winning ticket was sold in Quebec.
The winning numbers for the Classic draw were 02, 28, 29, 30, 36, 49, and bonus 35. No one won the $5 million top prize, but two people split the second prize. According to PlayNow, each winner will receive $123,358.40, and the tickets were sold in Ontario and Quebec.
No one won the Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000 or the $1 million Encore prize.
The next Lotto 6/49 jackpot is set for Wednesday, February 5, and the Gold Ball prize is now worth $30 million.
