A lucky Canadian woke up $1 million richer after a successful lottery draw.
Wednesday’s Lotto 6/49 draw had a $44 million Gold Ball jackpot up for grabs. Unfortunately, the gold ball wasn’t picked, but the 18th white ball was chosen.
A lottery player in Vancouver matched the winning numbers 10565796-01 to win the $1 million White Ball prize.

That wasn’t the only major win.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw prize were 26, 35, 39, 40, 41, 46, and bonus 03.
While no one nabbed the $5 million top prize, five Canadians did match five out of six lottery numbers, including the bonus, to split the second prize. One person from Nunavut, three players from Ontario, and one person from Quebec are each taking home $59,864.40.
The winning numbers for the Classic Draw Extra prize were 21, 22, 38, and 66. No one won the jackpot of $500,000, but 57 lottery players are taking home a modest $1,000.
If you didn’t beat the odds this time around, the next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Saturday, December 14. The Gold Ball jackpot balloons to $46 million, and with 12 balls left, you could be closer to getting the top prize.
There’s also Friday’s Lotto Max draw with a jackpot of $10 million.
Don’t forget to check your lottery ticket from Tuesday’s Lotto Max draw. The jackpot had reached $80 million for the second time in the game’s history. Just like the first time, two people split the top prize.

Loto Québec
One of the winners collected his half of the $80 million on Monday. Loto Québec revealed that Montreal resident Jean Lamontagne had purchased one of the two winning lottery tickets. He was at work when he checked and discovered he’d won a staggering $40 million prize.
The 60-year-old didn’t waste time sharing the news with his bosses first, adding that he’d take advantage of the Lotto Max windfall to retire earlier than planned. You can read his full winning story here.
