Although no one will be taking home the jackpot, two Canadians are waking up to a new reality after winning a massive lottery prize.
The Lotto 6/49 draw took place on Wednesday, July 2, and at the time, the Gold Ball prize was worth $14 million. However, even though no one won the top prize, someone did win the White Ball prize after matching the winning number 13504011-01. According to PlayNow, the winner will take home a $1-million cheque after purchasing the lucky ticket in West Vancouver, B.C.
The wins don’t end there.
The Lotto 6/49 Classic winning numbers were 06, 25, 27, 34, 38, 49, and bonus 02. Two Canadian lottery players matched all six numbers, scoring the $5-million top prize. As a result, they’ll both split the prize and will soon walk away with $2.5 million. It turns out that both of the winning tickets were sold in Western Canada.
Further east, two other players will soon be celebrating another split win. After they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, two people from Atlantic Canada will share the Classic Draw second prize, each receiving $97,921.80.

The third prize will be split among 64 winners, who will receive $1,284.90 each.
In B.C., there were no winners for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra prize worth $500,000. Likewise, in Ontario, no one won the $1-million Encore top prize.
It hasn’t been long since someone in Canada scored the Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
June 21 was a life-changing draw for a lottery player from Ontario who matched the Gold Ball winning number 48771804-01, instantly becoming $34 million richer. According to OLG, the ticket was purchased in North Bay.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is on Saturday, July 5, and the Gold Ball prize is now worth $16 million.
