Joel Cross from Bonnyville, Alta., said he had to do a double-take when he scanned his ticket in-store.
āAt a quick glance, I thought it was $1,000,ā he explained. āThen the cashier checked it and she said, āNo, itās $10,000?ā Then we counted the zeroes ā $100,000!ā
āI was a bit shaky after that!ā he laughed.
Cross said one of his first calls was to his brother, who shares his long-standing plan to buy land on the East Coast.
āMy brother and I have been wanting to buy property in Nova Scotia for a while,ā he said. āNow, we can!ā
