Hudson’s Bay has relaunched its rewards program with a new app and there are several new ways to earn points while shopping.
Whether back-to-school shopping or simply looking to spruce up your space, you can earn points for every dollar you spend. All you need to do is sign up to be a member and download the Hudson’s Bay Rewards app.

As always, you can earn points online or in-store at Hudson’s Bay or Zellers if you’re a member. And depending on how much you spend, you can achieve different membership levels: Hudson’s Bay Rewards, Rewards Plus, and Rewards VIP.
The rewards program was first introduced in 1986 and has over six million members today, and continues to be popular with shoppers.
“Its popularity and growth reflect Canadians’ love of loyalty programs and how consumer behaviours continue to change and adapt to increased prices and the cost of living,” reads a release. A survey by Eagle Eye shows that 62% of Canadians use loyalty program points, discounts, or savings while shopping, and 54% prefer personalized offers to match their shopping habits.

And the relaunch with the Hudson’s Bay Rewards app offers just that.
Use the app to search for hundreds of dollars in weekly offers and more points you can redeem. As a member, you can expect to receive three to five personalized offers each week from Hudson’s Bay and Zellers. You can activate these offers using the app or online before purchasing. And you can do that by simply clicking “activate now” and choosing which offer you want to claim.
And it doesn’t end there.

There are also Quest offers where you can earn bonus points as you reach a series of “linked milestones” over a period of time. You can also track your progress to see how close you are to triggering a bonus.
Any points you earn can be applied to any of your purchases.
Kevin Parry, VP of Credit and Loyalty at Hudson’s Bay, said they’ve seen a “tremendous change” in how people shop and what they’re looking for in a loyalty program.

“We wanted to level up our rewards game — giving our customers an exceptional experience that essentially lets them earn more points faster, to redeem for the things they need and want for themselves and their families, and have some fun while doing it,” said Parry.
You’ll earn more points when you shop online or at any department store’s 85 locations nationwide. You’ll earn points for every dollar you spend and can redeem those points in-store or online.
