Finding the right time to book a flight just got easier with this new tool
Now that a popular travel company has launched a tool that lets you compare the best deals for your dream destination, booking a holiday has never been simpler.
Kayak has released its new Best Time to Travel tool that provides travellers with all the insights about the best places to go at the best time of year.
The new tool uses predictive travel data based on billions of previous travel searches to forecast the best times and prices for flight and hotel bookings. This includes using data for things such as place of origin, destination, length of stay, and weather indicators.
Kayak reports that searches for travel are up 75% from last year, but with over 280,000 routes to choose from with their new tool, Canadians can find the best deals around.
There are three steps involved when using the Best Time to Travel tool.
Step 1: Enter your destination and trip length

Insert your home airport and your dream destination in the tool and choose how long you want to stay from Kayak’s popular trip lengths list (four, seven, or 14 days).
The deal finder will then return with the best months to visit your ideal location based on factors of cost, crowdedness, and weather conditions.
It will also let you compare prices for your destination by time of year with a breakdown of the average, minimum, and maximum flight prices for every month of the year.
Step 2: Narrow down your travel dates

Once you have decided on the best month to travel, you can narrow down what dates are best within that month.
Kayak’s tool will provide a calendar view with a breakdown of the flight prices and how they change depending on what dates you select.
As one example, Kayak reported that the cheapest option for a trip to Barcelona is flying from November 27 to December 3.
Step 3: Stay tuned in the booking window to maximize savings

After figuring out where you want to travel to and the dates you want to go, the last thing to think about is figuring out when is best to make the booking itself.
The new travel tool also has customers covered here, too. Kayak will generate the best days for you to book flights and hotels before the prices are expected to increase.
With Kayak reporting that prices for travel have increased 33% since last year, its new travel tool could not have come at a better time.
