Social media posts show overturned plane

Posts on social media are showing images of the plane appearing to be flipped over on the tarmac.

An individual named John Nelson, who said they were a passenger on the Delta flight, posted footage on their Facebook account.

“We’re in Toronto. We just landed. Our plane crashed, it’s upside down. [The] fire department is on-site… Most people appear to be ok,” he says in the video.

Toronto Pearson’s website currently lists a number of delays and cancellations for arriving and departing flights.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford responded to the incident on X, saying he was “relieved there are no casualties after the incident at Toronto Pearson.”

“Provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help that’s needed,” he added.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) said it has deployed investigators to “gather information and assess the occurrence” of the crash.
