Costco Canada is alerting customers that it’s recalling a scooter sold in stores and members can get their money back.
Costco Canada customers who purchased a particular scooter are being notified that it’s part of a nationwide recall. According to the notice shared on the company’s website, the recall applies to the Phantomgogo G63 Electric Snow Scooter. The scooter is classified as a snowmobile under Transport Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.
Costco explains that the scooter “does not meet the requirements of the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.” The scooter also fails to meet the requirements when it comes to shields and guards, lighting system, occupant support system, controls, general hazards, and Vehicle Identification Number. As a result, it poses a safety issue for riders and increases the risks of injuries, even potentially serious ones.
