Costco Canada has issued multiple product recalls recently, so if you purchased any of the affected products, you could get a refund.
Although Costco Canada is notifying customers of recalled items, it’s also important for members to check if their purchases are on the list. Products are being recalled for various reasons, such as quality control issues and potentially serious safety risks.
The most recent recalls include a toy kitchen that could pose a strangulation risk for children, protein powder that could have pieces of plastic, and a toaster oven that could pose a burn hazard.
These recalls are still active, and other retailers may have sold some items. Although these recalls were announced this year, at least one item was sold as far back as 2015, so it’s worth checking to see if you have these in your home.
While some manufacturers are offering customers free repairs, the majority of the recalled items can be returned to the store for a full refund.
KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen

Costco.ca
Recall date: Aug. 5
Backyard Kids, LLC has announced a nationwide recall of KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen due to a safety risk. The product was sold between August 2018 and May 2020.
“If young children are climbing on the counter or crawling through the opening at the back of the play kitchen, their clothing can get caught on the plastic or metal hooks meant to hold toy kitchen accessories such as play pots and pans, posing a strangulation hazard,” states the recall.
Although there have been no reports of an incident in Canada, there was one report of a death from strangulation and asphyxia in the U.S. Owners are urged to stop using the toy immediately. The company is offering replacement hooks and a full refund.

Bestway above-ground pool

Costco.ca
Recall date: July 24
A drowning hazard has led to Costco Canada recalling Bestway brand above-ground pools sold in Costco Warehouses and online between 2020 and 2025. According to the recall notice, the pools use compression straps surrounding the pool exterior wall and support poles. A child may use this as a foothold to access the pool, and it could pose a drowning hazard.
If you own this recalled item, make sure that children can’t access the pool unattended or drain the pool until a repair can be installed. Bestway is offering owners a free repair kit.
Good Protein Chocolate Fudge All-in-One Shake

Costco.ca
Recall date: Sept. 19
Costco Canada is notifying customers who purchased the Good Protein Chocolate Fudge All-in-One Shake that the product is being recalled as it “may not meet our usual flavour profile standards.” While the quality issue only affects the taste, according to Costco, the protein shake is still safe to consume.
The affected item has the lot code 25221 TB, which can be found on the lower right-hand corner of the back of the bag and was sold on Costco’s website between Aug. 29 and Sept. 17. You can return the item to a warehouse or through your Costco.ca account for a full refund.
Oster French Door Countertop Oven

Costco.ca
Recall date: Sept. 29
A potential “burn hazard” has prompted Health Canada to issue a recall of the Oster French Door Countertop Ovens sold at Costco Warehouses and on Costco.ca between 2015 and 2025. Unlike toaster ovens with pull-down doors, the recalled toasters feature spring-loaded bilateral “French doors.” These doors are made of glass with metal handles, and it has been discovered that the oven’s doors can “unexpectedly close,” posing a burn hazard to users.
The recalled models sold by Costco include model numbers TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033. Customers can obtain a repair kit or return the recalled item to a Costco warehouse to receive a full refund.
