Here are the cheapest flights Canadians can take in 2026
Travelling on a budget is tough these days. Whether you want to relax on a beach in the Bahamas or shop ’till you drop in Japan, it is still possible to find inexpensive flights from Canada.
Skyscanner revealed its top 10 cheapest destinations for Canadians in 2026, highlighting all of the flights you can take from or within Canada without breaking the bank.
According to the global travel app’s latest research, while 66 per cent of Canadians are planning to travel abroad this year, only 48 per cent have actually booked their flights.
“Destination indecision and concerns over cost are reported as the biggest booking barriers, as nearly half (45 per cent) share they are still deciding on destination, and 43 per cent are still trying to find the best deals,” reads the report.
It turns out, jet setters are expecting to pay a lot more for their flights from Canada in 2026. Skyscanner found that 69 per cent of Canadians think their roundtrip flights are going to cost more than $500 this year.
However, the travel app crunched the numbers across thousands of routes and millions of bookings and found 10 of the cheapest destinations for 2026 — some with average roundtrip flights from Canada for less than $484.
Here are the top 10 lowest fares for 2026. All of the average return flight prices are based on economy seats booked on Skyscanner between Jan. 1, 2025, and Oct. 31, 2025, for travel between Jan. 1, 2026, and Dec. 31, 2026.

And if you’re wondering which is the cheapest day to fly in 2026, Skyscanner found that, on average, that day is Sunday.
“Only three per cent of Canadians surveyed thought Friday would be the cheapest, with 29 per cent thinking Tuesday and 25 per cent Wednesday,” the report notes. “The reality, of course, is that the cheapest day to fly varies according to route and month.”
