Chappell Roan gives massive shoutout to Canadian province in upcoming song

Chappell Roan has just teased the official release of a new single where she gives a massive shoutout to a western Canadian province.
On July 23, the American singer-songwriter, known for her hit “Pink Pony Club,” dropped the teaser for her upcoming and highly anticipated single, “The Subway.” The 11-second clip, shared by Pop Crave, shows the back of a white truck with a Saskatchewan licence plate with the words “The Sbway.”
The truck can be seen driving along a road surrounded by fields, and while the singer’s face isn’t visible, we do catch a glimpse of Roan’s signature red hair flying in the wind. The camera then focuses on a sign with the words, “Welcome to Saskatchewan, land of living skies.”
In the short teaser, we hear the lyrics, “I made a promise if in four months, this feeling ain’t gone, well, f*ck this city, I’m moving to Saskatchewan.”

Fans are abuzz over the upcoming single, but while this will be the song’s official release, Roan has previously performed “The Subway” at various festivals.
The Saskatchewan shoutout has many Canadian fans excited.
“Most Canadians outside of Saskatchewan can’t pronounce it correctly, so I’m blown away that Chappell Roan absolutely nailed it!” wrote one person on X.
Another asked, “Saskatchewan’s newest resident… Chappell Roan?!”
“The concept of thousands of random Americans discovering the existence of Saskatchewan through a Chappell song,” wrote one X user.
Roan is one of several American celebrities who have recently given a shoutout to Canada.
Actor Russell Crowe raved about Canada and shared his excitement about visiting his seventh province. Sharon Stone also reacted to a viral tourism campaign about Canadians welcoming American tourists with open arms.
In the comments, Stone wrote, “Thanks, we need a hug.”
