TikToker comes up with the 'most Canadian' Halloween costume ever

If you’re still looking for a Halloween costume, one Canadian may have just found the perfect idea — and it hits a little too close to home.
Toronto-based radio host Andrew Uyeno has been sharing some uniquely Canadian Halloween costume ideas on TikTok: a pitcher and bag of milk couple’s costume and a house hippo. But one costume in particular seems to have really resonated with viewers.
In a 14-second clip, Uyeno shows up dressed as a giant reusable bag stuffed with a variety of reusable bags, including red bags from supermarket chain Metro.
“This Halloween, I’m dressed up as the most Canadian thing ever,” he states. “A giant reusable bag that we keep our other reusable bags in it. Here, you need one? I got one for you. I got lots. You need a couple? Here you go.”

Metro even commented on the post, stating, “Our bags have been training for this moment their entire lives.”
In another clip, he pretends to hand out candy along with reusable bags from other stores. The costume idea seems to have struck a nerve with shoppers who keep forgetting their bags at home, as the video now has over 1.4 million views.
“Do you also keep your reusable bags in a bigger reusable bag?” he asks in the caption.
The answer is a resounding yes.
“I’m giggling, I have a DRAWER full and have a bunch laying around my room,” wrote one viewer.
Another commented, “‘I got lots!’ Yeah, because we all forget our reusable bags at home and have to buy more EVERY. DAMN. TIME. 😂”
Someone joked, “Unrealistic. Need a couple awkwardly folded giant bags and a few that are too small for anything useful.”
Not only is the costume original, but it’s also practical.
One viewer pointed out, “There are always those kids who have a bag already full of candy, so it’s perfect.”
“Trick or treat! Here’s a reusable bag!” one commenter wrote.
So if you need a Halloween costume, this is your sign to put that mountain of reusable bags to good use — you can even hand them out to trick-or-treaters, though accompanying adults might tell you they already have plenty at home.
