A city in Canada is the only North American destination to make it into the top 10 best Christmas tour spots in the world.

PrivacyJournal, a VPN provider, released a ranking of the best Christmas tour destinations for 2025, and only one magical place in Canada made the list.

“As the lights go up and the scent of mulled wine hangs in the winter air once more, travellers worldwide seek destinations that truly capture the magic of Christmas,” reads the report.

“Our comprehensive analysis reveals which destinations offer the most compelling Christmas tour experiences for 2025, combining accessibility, value, and unforgettable festive atmosphere.”

The company used data from TripAdvisor and Kayak to examine four factors that create the ultimate Christmas tour spot: the number of available tours, median tour price per hour, average number of languages offered, and average hotel rates per night in December.

According to the report, only four North American destinations secured spots in the top 25.

The city in Canada that ranked the highest in North America for best Christmas tour destination is none other than Quebec City. It placed eighth with a total score of 51.9, boasting 25 holiday tours at an average price of $22.63 per hour. The average number of languages offered on these tours is 17.

“Quebec City stands as North America’s closest approximation to a European Christmas
experience, its Christmas tours celebrate both French-Canadian heritage and winter
wonderland charm,” reads the report.

PrivacyJournal found that accommodations average at $201 per night, making Quebec City one of the more reasonably priced Christmas tour destinations compared to cities like Strasbourg, Prague, London, and Amsterdam.

“Tours often provide festive market experiences with outdoor winter adventures, reflecting
how Canada embraces the winter period,” highlighted the report. “Visitors can tour the Ice Hotel, ride horse-drawn carriages through snowy streets, and experience Quebecois Christmas traditions that blend French, British and Indigenous influences.”

In addition to these enchanting activities, the city also transforms the Plains of Abraham into a massive winter playground during the holiday season, where visitors can ski, enjoy ice slides, and walk illuminated trails.

The top spot went to London, with a total score of 69.4, mainly due to its ample free festive attractions. This includes the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree and Covent Garden’s decorations.

PrivacyJournal said all of these free experiences balance out the overall trip cost, especially with heftier accommodations averaging at $274 per night.

Amsterdam and Nuremberg round out the top three spots with scores of 67.6 and 63.1, respectively.

This isn’t the first time a city in Canada ranked highly in global Christmas destinations. Quebec City also made the list of Travel + Leisure’sĀ most magical Christmas destinations this year.
