'Rocky Horror Picture Show' actor Tim Curry dead at 80
We lost another great talent this week, as it’s been announced that prolific actor Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80.
Just one day after the news of Dolly Parton’s death, also at the age of 80, shocked the world, we now say goodbye to another Hollywood legend, known for his villainous roles on screen and stage.
Curry died Tuesday night in his home in Los Angeles, TMZ first reported. According to sources, the British actor “had been plagued with serious health issues for more than a decade.”
For over 60 years, Curry played iconic roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clue, It, Home Alone 2, the 2000 reboot of Charlie’s Angels, and plenty of other cult classics.
Whether he was playing an evil clown or an arrogant bellhop, Curry was known for his unmistakable deep voice, laugh, and mischievous grin.
During his lucrative career, he earned numerous Tony and Emmy nominations, along with a 2000 Grammy nomination for Best Spoken Word Album for Children — proof that there was hardly a genre or medium Curry wasn’t willing to tackle.
One year before his death, Curry released Vagabond: A Memoir and revealed he was unable to walk due to a 2012 stroke.
Stars are slowly starting to pay tribute to the late actor on social media.
Clue co-star Michael McKean recalled the last time he spoke to his friend.
