Calgary-wide noodle crawl kicks off in the city this week

A city-wide noodle crawl is set to kick off across Calgary this week, and it’s raising money for a great cause.
YYC Noodle Festival officially returns to the city on Thursday, Nov. 6 and will run until Sunday, Nov. 16. As part of the festivities, Calgarians will be able to check out dozens of slurp-worthy noodle dishes from some of the city’s most beloved restaurants.
This year, 24 restaurants will be competing in categories including the Top Rated Noodle for the best noodle dish in town, the Power Fundraiser for the restaurant that raises the most money, and the Most Creative Noodle for the most unique dish.
A map of each participating restaurant will be available on the festival website so that you can plan your route accordingly.

As well as dining out on some creative dishes, diners will also be able to participate in a passport contest. By visiting each restaurant and getting the card stamped, noodle lovers are able to enter into a prize draw to win a prize pack including merch and restaurant gift cards. The festival will also be hosting daily challenges and giveaways on Instagram.
YYC Noodle Festival will be raising funds for the Leftovers Foundation, an organization that rescues good food from landfills and redirects it back to the community and non-profits. A portion of each bowl of noodles sold throughout the festival will be donated to the Leftovers Foundation.
“Our mission has always been bigger than food,” said Joanne Chung, event producer.
“We want to spotlight Calgaryās diverse restaurant scene while raising funds for the Leftovers Foundation to fight food waste.”
Last year, YYC Noodle Festival raised $5,000 with over 2,000 attendees throughout and this year, they have set an ambitious target of raising $10,000 for the Leftovers Foundation, so it’s time to get eating.
