The ever-popular YYC Hot Chocolate Fest returns to the city for its 5th year, launching tomorrow January 30, at the Calgary Farmers’ Market.

Running from 11 a.m. to noon, the official launch is free and open to the public. Taking place at the stage area in the Farmers’ Market food court, the event will include free hot chocolate samples, a showcase of participating vendors (TotaliTEAAnalog Coffee, Blenz Coffee, The Main Dish, Kaffeeklatsch, and last year’s winner, The Bean Shop), and the official “inaugural sip” to formally commence the festival.

The month-long festival offers up an enticing menu, featuring inventive and limited editions hot chocolates, from a range of Calgary-based cafés, restaurants, and chocolatiers. A total of 29 participants will be crafting some of the best and most unique hot chocolates to support Calgary Meals on Wheels.

Creations like Euphoria Café’s Blueberry Hot Chocolate and Midtown Kitchen & Bar’s Bourbon Banana Split (spirited) will be looking to earn the title of Calgary’s Best Hot Chocolate.
