This Calgary bakery just made macaron doughnuts a thing

While we don’t have a list of all the food that will be offered at the highly-anticipated Lilac Festival this year, we do have some info that anyone with a sweet tooth, sugar craving, or affinity for desserts will likely be pretty pumped about.

Yann Haute Patisserie, maker of delicious and stunning French desserts, is going to be selling special addition macaron doughnuts on June 3 at the festival.

A mashup of a macaron and a beignet, this creation will be made in a variety of flavours come Lilac Fest, but patrons can definitely expect coconut and lemon varieties from the patisserie’s stand for $4 a piece or $10 for three.

You should be able to find these goodies at the top of 23rd Avenue SW near the signature bright yellow bakery itself.

Only time will tell if this is the best thing since the cotton candy cookie dough burrito, but we’ll definitely be willing to get the goods and find out.

Yann Haute told Daily Hive that due to the attention the offering has gotten already, it’s pretty likely we’ll see this treat in the case at the bakery after the festival.

Fingers crossed!
