You can now access WiFi at 29 CTrain stations in Calgary

The City of Calgary and Calgary Transit has announced eighteen new locations for Public Wi-Fi servicing CTrain stations.

With Shaw Communications Shaw Go WiFi network, the service will be available to any member of the public at no charge.

“This is a great way to provide the best possible transit experience for our customers,” said Calgary Transit Director Doug Morgan in a release. “In keeping with our customer commitment, we want to make life better for our customers every day. We are always looking for more ways to better serve Calgarians. We are committed to providing service that is helpful and look forward to expanding Wi-Fi to the West CTrain stations next.”

New locations include:

Northeast CTrain Stations:

  • Bridgeland / Memorial
  • Calgary Zoo
  • Barlow / Max Bell
  • Franklin
  • Marlborough
  • Rundle
  • Whitehorn
  • McKnight / Westwinds
  • Martindale
  • Saddletowne

Northwest CTrain Stations:

  • Sunnyside
  • SAIT/ACAD/Jubilee
  • Lions Park
  • Banff Trail
  • University
  • Dalhousie
  • Crowfoot
  • Tuscany

Existing locations:

Downtown LRT stations

  • 1st Street S.W.
  • 3rd Street S.W.
  • 4th Street S.W.
  • 6th Street S.W.
  • 7th Street S.W.
  • 8th Street S.W.
  • Centre Street
  • City Hall
  • Downtown West – Kerby

South LRT stations

  • Chinook LRT Station
  • Shaganappi Point LRT Station

How to connect

Select ShawGuest on the list of available Wi-Fi networks at participating CTrain stations. You will be prompted to register for the service and will receive 500MB of data per 30 days. Once your data has expired and the 30 days has passed, you will be required to sign in again.
If you leave a city location with Guest Access, the Wi-Fi access will time out. Users must reconnect to the Guest network to continue receiving Wi-Fi access.
