Western Canada Lottery Corporation extends winning ticket expiry by 6 months

Apr 7 2020, 8:47 pm

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation has announced that they are extending expiry dates on winning tickets that would have expired between March 17 and September 17 by six additional months.

This move is to encourage physical distancing and slow the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring lottery winners are able to claim their prizes, a release from WCLC states.

Ordinarily, tickets expire one year after their draw date, and instant scratch tickets have a printed expiry.

The extension applies to Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Daily Grand, Western Max, Western 649, Extra, Pick 2/3/4, Poker Lotto and All-In, KENO, Proline, Point Spread, Over/Under, Pools, Props, and Zing instant scratch tickets.
