  • What: This year, the 6th annual GlobalFest will be showcasing Calgary’s cultural diversity and artistic excellence, including amazing fireworks.

Alberta Handball Association 2015: World Championships

  • What: 2015 World Handball Championships feature Canada and 26 other nations.

Rupee, Olatunji and Ricardo Drue perform for MONARCHS 2015

  • What: With a good response from last year more DJ’s and artists are returning for this years MONARCHS.

Carifest Calgary

  • What: Annual festival in Calgary that showcases the arts and culture of the Caribbean. There will be a parade that starts at Olympic Plaza and goes to Shaw Millennium Park and the Sunshine fest will have loads of outdoor entertainment.

Calgary Dragon Boat Race and Festival

  • What: Originating from China, Dragon boats will be racing each other to qualify for the 2016 National Club Crew Qualifiers. There will be food trucks, cultural activities and live music for your enjoyment.

Disney’s The Lion King Calgary 2015 at Southern Jubilee Auditorium

  • What: Travel to the African savanna to marvel at the jumping gazelles, swooping birds, majestic lions and more in the Broadway musical. Listen to the unforgettable songs, like “The Circle of Life”, and the incredible vocalists and musicians producing them.

Opera in the Village

  • What: Performances from The Mikado and The Scorpions’ Sting: an Egyptian Myth will take place in a 900-seat open air tent. There will be free activities like movie nights, roving performers and more.

Lacrosse: Founders’ Cup

  • What: Come watch seven teams with 210 athletes competing for the founders’ cup in the the Canadian Jr. Lacrosse championship.
