Melting time: Calgary forecast to see a delightful temperature warm-up

Calgary was blanketed by more snow over the weekend, but the forecast suggests a change in the frigid temperatures soon.

After enduring a daytime high of just -12°C today, tomorrow is looking much warmer with a high of -2°C and sunshine.

Tomorrow will just be a tease, though, with another dip in daytime highs coming for the rest of the workweek, hovering from -9°C to -6°C with overnight lows never breaking above the -10°C mark as well.

Things really start to turn around come the weekend, with a daytime high of -1°C on Saturday. On Sunday, YYC is aiming to break into the positives with a daytime high of 4°C and a mix of sun and clouds.

ECCC stated in a weather summary on Sunday that the heavy snow that moved through central and southern Alberta on Friday and Saturday dropped 18 centimetres of snow at the Calgary International Airport, per ECCC and Alberta Government monitoring stations.

Other third-party websites reported snowfall amounts of 30 centimetres in northeast Calgary, while west Calgary saw 20.
