Watch the Penguin Walk at the Calgary Zoo

Dec 19 2017, 10:56 am

Calgarians are being encouraged to waddle down to the zoo to watch its Penguin Walk on Saturday, January 9.

After the event, penguin walks will be held every day at 11 a.m. According to the Calgary Zoo, the walk will feature up to eight king penguins, including an exciting new member.

“This year’s walk will also be the first for Nero, the zoo’s newest king penguin, who hatched August 22, 2015,” reads the Calgary Zoo website. “As he is still young, Nero has yet to venture outside to explore the outdoor habitat.”

The penguins are scheduled to walk in front of the Penguin Plunge building, continuing down the bridge before returning back to their habitat.

The walk is weather dependent and anyone interested in attending can receive updates on the Calgary Zoo website.
