Play the world's best golf courses indoors at this Calgary hotel

There’s an all-inclusive resort experience right here in downtown Calgary.

With travel restrictions postponing our chances to escape these winter months, Hotel Arts has just announced their latest offering to their Endless Summer experience: Luxury Golf Studios.

The Hotel Arts was already a favourite hotspot in the city, with their heated pool, delicious food and cocktails, and upcoming Plain Jane events, and this indoor golfing experience is just another reason why.

Players can choose from over 50 of the best courses in the world, many of them familiar stops on the pro tour. Play the home of golf at Scotland’s own St. Andrews, or try playing Oakmont, often referred to as the hardest golf course in the world. Skip the travel (and the US $600 green fee) at Pebble Beach Golf Course in California — just tee it up at the Hotel Arts.

The launch monitor screen is a 15-foot-wide simulator 4k screen, so it’ll look and feel like you’re really there. You can throw on your best polo, dust off your clubs from the trunk of your car, and play some real golf courses. They even have the clubhouse experience, and that means a stocked food and beverage cart.

It only takes about an hour to play an 18-hole round, and the cost for 55 minutes is $50. That includes the data on your club and ball, measuring swing speed, spin rate, ball speed, distance, and more. It’s probably worth it just to simulate the feeling of travelling somewhere new.

Golf was a tough hobby to take up during quarantine. It was fairly difficult to take full practice swings in the living room being used as a home office. Get out of the house and use the screen in a practice session, seeing your exact data to get ready for when courses open in the spring. The cost for a practice session starts at just $40. They even offer lessons with certified CPGA Professionals.

Foresight Golf Studios at Hotel Arts uses the same technology the professionals use to see the data on their swing and ball flight, and most importantly, how far they hit it. Now you’ll really be able to know if that one friend really does average 300 yards off the tee.

Tee times with the simulator can be booked just for yourself, or with your household, subject to current health regulations.

The Golf Studios at Hotel Arts could be available as early as February 4, depending on when restrictions are lifted by provincial public health authorities.

You can book your time right now here.
