Vin Room announces "dog days" where pups are cleared to hang on patios

Florence and the Machine was totally wrong – the dog days aren’t over, they are just beginning!

At least at Calgary’s Vin Room, that is.

Management at Vin Room West told Daily Hive that the wine-centric restaurant wants its guests to celebrate the dog days of summer by, well, being with their dog.

At Vin Room’s Mission and West Springs locations Calgarians can now hit the patio to dine with man’s best friend in tow.

This is a pretty big deal, as there are few other restaurants in town willing to let pet owners bring their buds along for the meal – other than your average Starbucks or coffee shop, of course.

This new patio policy has been approved by Alberta Health Services, and the Vin Room has a license to let dogs on its patios all seven days of the week if the restaurant feels they want to. Right now, pups are only cleared to hang out at Vin Room on Sundays and Mondays, and only specifically on the front patio at Vin’s Mission location.

But if the cute and loving stares of the pooches at these spots doesn’t compel the team at Vin Room to let dogs hang out on the daily, we’ll be surprised.

Along with the company of dogs, guests at the restaurant can enjoy a selection of over 100 wines as well as bites like charcuterie and tapas dishes.

There’s really nothing more you could ask for if you’re a dog lover, don’t you agree?
