Via Cibo may have been inspired by Italian street food for those on the go in the boot-shaped country, but the Italian eatery is definitely in Calgary to stay for a while.
The third YYC franchise of the restaurant opened at 1520 14th Street SW in late October. This location will be providing the southwest with authentic Italian pasta, paninis, salads, pizza, and a selection of desserts.

Via Cibo also makes a mean Italian piadina, a staple of Italy which consists of 100% artisan durum wheat flour, extra-virgin olive oil, Mediterranean sea salt, and spring water. Via Cibo piadinas are made to order, and they are often made right in front of customers. These delicacies can be topped with a selection of vegetables, meats, cheeses, and sauces.
The new location is fully licensed and has a brunch, lunch, and dinner menu along with the option for takeout and catering. With only three other locations in Canada (Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton), it seems Calgary loves it some Via Cibo. If you can’t make it to this location you have the option to order online as well, so basically there is no excuse not to eat Via.
Via Cibo on 14th Street is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 10 pm, Saturday 10 am – 10 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 9 pm.
