University of Calgary ranked the greenest campus in Canada

The University of Calgary has been ranked as the second greenest campus in Canada.

According to a report released by Corporate Knights, the University of Calgary took the top spot on the list.

Corporate Knights based their ranking on the following 13 factors:

  • Building area management
  • Clean air management
  • Green certified building space
  • Environment-friendly dining certification
  • Clean energy produced
  • Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool score
  • Green purchases on cleaning products
  • Green purchases on office paper
  • Green transportation
  • Smart commuting
  • Waste management
  • Water management
  • Investing sustainably

“[The University of Calgary] received high scores on a number of key performance indicators, including water management, sustainable investing and green certified building space,” said the report.
