In an effort that would make Spider-Man proud, the Calgary Fire Department successfully rescued a man from the outside of a high rise building — five storeys up.
Crews responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious worker on a swing stage attached to the side of a building on the 200 block of 6th Avenue SE at around 4:30 pm on Monday, according to a release from the City of Calgary.

When crews arrived they made their way up to the fifth floor, activated their Technical Rescue team, and secured the male worker to a stretcher.
Using a rope system, the man was then lowered to a more accessible floor, according to the release.
From there they managed to bring the person into the building with help from the building’s maintenance crew and, after care was transferred to Alberta Health Services, the man was transported to hospital.
