Calgary is among the top 30 cities in the world to compete for the title of Ultimate Sport City of 2016, an award given out by SportBusiness every two years.

The list, which started at 150 cities, has been narrowed down to 30, including 2014’s winner, London, England. Vancouver is the only other Canadian city that has also made the shortlist.

Cities that made the top 30 will now have to complete a detailed questionnaire, which will then be judged and ranked by SportBusiness’ panel across several categories, including venues, transportation, and major events strategy.

The top five contenders in each category will be announced in early March, and the winner in April.
