Tim Hortons releasing doughnut created by Special Olympics athlete

Those with a sweet tooth can gear up to enjoy a new treat later this month.

Because Tim Hortons and Special Olympics Canada are releasing a limited edition doughnut to support and celebrate Global Day of Inclusion On Saturday, July 20.

This year’s doughnut was created by 26-year-old Special Olympics athlete Tori Ranson, whose creation was chosen out of over 400 submissions.

The special edition snack features a cruller sliced in half, filled with whipped topping, and decorated with vanilla fondant and red sprinkles.

Global Day of Inclusion began in 2018 and together Tim Hortons and Special Olympics Canada are raising awareness and funds to empower 47,500 Canadians with intellectual disabilities to reach their full potential through Special Olympics programs.

On July 20, guests can purchase a Special Olympics doughnut at participating restaurants, and all proceeds will go to Special Olympics in Canada.
