Happy Friday!

The end of the work week is here and there is finally some sunshine to enjoy! Here are some awesome events to help kick start your weekend fun.

Chicago / Earth, Wind & Fire

  • What: Legendary bands Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire are bringing their Heart and Soul Tour 3.0 to Calgary.Following their successful summer co-headlining 2015 Heart and Soul Tour and spring 2016 Heart and Soul Tour 2.0, the two well-established bands will reform and hit the road for a 15-city trek across the US and Canada this fall.

Field of Crosses

  • What: The annual Field of Crosses is back! Take time out of your day to walk through the 3,000 crosses that were set-up by volunteers, to pay tribute for those fallen for our country. If you are looking to become more involved in the Remembrance Day festivities, help out with the Calgary Poppy Fun annual fundraising campaign or the Canadian Legacy Project’s Veterans Food Drive, both which coincide with the field of crosses.

  • When: November 1 to 11
  • Cost: Free

Catalyst Theatre Presents: Fortune Falls

  • What: Instead of Saturday night at the movies try spending date night at the theatre! Check out this fun and suspenseful new musical drama brought to you by Edmonton’s Catalyst Theatre and support our local talent.
  • Where: Martha Cohen Theater
  • When: October 18 to November 5
  • Cost: Between $25.00-$62.00

Mamma Mia!

  • What: Calling all ABBA fans, this has your name written all over it. The songs are all culled from the Swedish super-group’s songbook, and this is one Broadway show where singing along (and dancing in the aisles) is encouraged
  • Where: Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium – 1415 14th Avenue NW
  • When: November 1 to 6

Hannah Georgas

  • What: Hannah Georgas just released her third album For Evelyn, a lovely collection of tunes that was named after her grandmother, and first single “Don’t Go” is getting major airplay at Canadian Alternative radio. Georgas is a seasoned live performer, having opened for City and Colour and Sara Bareilles on past tours.
  • When: Friday, November 4 at 8 pm
