Barn Dance

  • What: Join in the fun at the Barn Dance presented by The Calgary Fiddlers Association and learn a few new dances while you’re at it.
  • Where: Thorncliffe-Greenview Community Hall – 5600 Centre Street N
  • When: Friday, March 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and $60 for families

Snakeskins

  • What: The award-winning Snakeskin, is Benoît Lachambre’s multimedia, poly-sensorial performance.
  • Where: Theatre Junction Grand – 608 1 Street SW
  • When: Now until Saturday, March 5
  • Cost: $27 for students and artists under 30/ $45 for general

Blitz Snowshoe Fun Run (5K, 10K, Fun Run)

  • What: Run or hike in snowshoes on a well groomed trail, while enjoying the great outdoors. There is a 5 km trail designed for all ages and abilities as well as a 10 km trail that varies in terrain and elevation gain.
  • Where: ​The Fairmont ​Chateau Lake Louise, Banff National Park
  • When: Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Cost: $20 for adults, $10 children (6 to 10), free for 5 & under

Pop Up Saturdays!

  • What: Just along 17th Avenue there will be vendors selling handmade, local items, every Saturday.
  • Where: Fallen Angels Creations – 827 17 Avenue SW
  • When: Saturday, March 5 to Saturday, March 28 from noon to 5 p.m.

Brazilian Carnival in Calgary

  • What: Promoted by the Brazilian Community Association of AB in Calgary this event celebrates happiness with live bands and samba showcases.
  • Where: Chinese Cultural Centre – 197 1 Street SW
  • When: Saturday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
  • Cost: $15 for adults, and $8 for kids

Acappella Blitz: Rhythm of the Rockies

  • What: International award-winning chorus Rhythm of the Rockies in conjunction with Out Loud YYC, the 2016 Juno Awards Host Committee, presents a cappella Blitz.

Vital Few

  • What: Six performers are in constant motion to create living and moving sculptures.
  • Where: Margaret Greenham Theatre, Banff Centre

Calgary Roughnecks vs Rochester Knighthawks

  • What: The Calgary Roughnecks play the Rochester Knighthawks.
  • Where: Scotiabank Saddledome

The White and Black Ball

  • What: DJD’s annual party and fundraiser, the Black & White Ball, is an evening to dance and party the night away to the sounds of two live bands.

Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls

  • What: Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls are on tour with Northcote and Mo Kenney, and stop in Calgary for an all-ages show.

Dancing in the Streets

  • What: Watch critically acclaimed, Dancing in the Streets, direct from London’s west end. Expect dancing and singing with high energy and electricity during this fun-loving performance.

Calgary Maple Festival Des Sucres

  • What: Promoting French Canadian culture, history, and traditions, this year’s festival will feature French Canadian music and folkloric dances, traditional meals, outdoor games, savoury maple taffy, and so much more.
  • When: Saturday, March 5 and 6, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mommylicious Trade Fair

  • What: A show primarily offering services and products geared towards families offering over 40 vendors, and fun for the kids including, face painting, a bouncy castle, and more.

The Big Taste Calgary

  • What: For 10 days, Calgary’s finest foodies come to downtown in celebration of world-class cuisine. Participating restaurants will be offering prix fixe menus, giving Calgarians the chance to try the best each restaurant.

Canmore Winter Festival: World Cup Edition

  • What: Celebrate the season and a popular community tradition for more than 20 years at the Canmore Winter Festival. A total of two World Cup events will be a part of the carnival along with 45 days of non-stop fun including events like, snow sculpting, ice carving, and Snowy Owl Kid N Mutt races.

The Paper Bag Princess: a musical

  • What: Meant for anyone ages 6 and up this fantastical play will take you on a journey with a feisty princess and her hapless prince, based on a Robert Munsch children’s story book.

  • When: Now until Saturday, March 19

Body Worlds Vital

  • What: Celebrating the human body in its healthy, vibrant, and optimal self. Body Worlds is one of the first showcases to provide human specimens on display.
  • Where: TELUS Science Centre – 220 St. George’s Drive NE
