The Manhattan Series – GOOD TIMES

  • What: The second edition of The Manhattan Series – GOOD TIMES will include complimentary hors d’oevres and sample wine tasting for guests that arrive before 11p.m. The event will feature old school Hip Hop and R&B favourites.

Blackheart Burlesque

  • What: The SuicideGirls, an online community that celebrates beauty and culture from all around the world, presents Blackheart Burlesque. They’re taking classic burlesque and giving it a geek makeover. Star Wars and Zelda characters along with many others will all be at the show.

YYC Taco Fiesta 2016

  • What: Combining food and charity, YYC Taco Fiesta, a six day long festival celebrating tacos, makes its debut in Calgary this year.
  • When: Now until Thursday, May 5

Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo 2016

  • What: At the Expo you can visit hundreds of vendor booths and exhibits, attend workshops, and panels featuring iconic artists and stars, grab new art from world-class creators, and even meet your favourite heroes for a photo or autograph.

Calgary Expo Official After Party

  • What: Heading the night is metal-pop fusion band Rock Sugar. Jess Harnell’s mash-up band will be be supported by Kirby Krackle and his heartfelt songs dedicated to the best in comic books, video games, pop and geek-culture.
  • Where: Cowboys Dance Hall – 421 12th Avenue SE
  • When: Friday, April 29 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Alumni Weekend

  • What: It’s University of Calgary’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Whether you graduated in 1966, 2006 or 2015, you’re invited to Alumni Weekend.
  • Where: University of Calgary – 2500 University Dr. N.W.
  • When: Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and
    Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cineplex Family Favourites

  • What: The whole family can head down to participating Cineplex theatres every Saturdays throughout April and May for a screening of popular family films. Saturday, April 30 they’ll be showing Pan

16th Annual FunnyFest Talent Search

  • What: Be part of the judging as audience reaction and laughter is needed. Watch round 5 of the talent search that will be showcased at the 16th annual FunnyFest Calgary comedy festival from June 2 to 12.

Charity Food and Wine Festival

  • What: The first ever Charity Wine & Food Festival is in support of the Alex Community Food Centre, for Calgarians to build a foundation for whole health by growing, cooking and sharing healthy food. The Alex Community Food Centre that will open early this summer. Sample dishes prepared by chefs from 15 local restaurants, each paired with a wine from around the world.

Comic STRIP: Calgary Comic Expo After Party

  • What: The infamous contortionist performer, Visha Loo will be hosting the third annual Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo After Party. An evening of burlesque, music, comedy, magic all inspired by our favourite comic and entertainment related film, television, and art. Event is for adults only.

Hot Mess Dance Party

  • What: See feature performance of Ms. Alyssa Edwards and Alberta Ballet, in a sneak preview of their upcoming show Love Lies Bleeding. Hot Mess is a gay dance party that is hosted once a month.

Calgary New Music Festival

  • What: The second annual week-long festival is presented by New Works Calgary. The diversity of today’s new music will be presented by a variety of Calgary musicians and ensembles in venues all over the city.

Fitness at the CORE

  • What: Closed on Sunday mornings, the CORE is hosting a free Zumba class before their stores open.

Body Worlds Vital

  • What: Celebrating the human body in its healthy, vibrant, and optimal self. Body Worlds is one of the first showcases to provide human specimens on display.
