Jazz YYC Eli Bennett Quartet

  • What: Hear the Jazz group Eli Bennett Quartet play live. They hit #3 in the Canadian National Jazz Charts in December 2014 and numerous other awards as well as hits.
  • Where: Ironwood Stage & Grill – 1229 9th Avenue SE, Calgary
  • When: Monday, June 22; 8 to 10 p.m.

Suncor Energy: Stage One Festival

  • What: The Stage One Festival is a way for artists in Calgary to get recognized in theater. Over three weeks, nine playwrights will spend time with actors as well as directors to develop and perfect scripts.
  • Where: Lunch Box Theatre – 115 9 Ave. S.E, Calgary, AB
  • When: June 12 to 27: Monday to Saturday 12:10 p.m.; Thursdays to Fridays 12:10 and 6:10 p.m.

YYCFoodTrucks Summer Frenzy: Live Music Stage

  • What: There will be 20 local Food Trucks taking over 5th Street Square! YYCFoodTrucks is having a Summer Frenzy with live music, giveaways, and many other things to do as well as see.
  • Where: East Village- 5th Street Square, Calgary
  • When: June 26 4 to 9 p.m.; June 27 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; June 28 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 Shakespeare By The Bow

  • What: Shakespeare by the bow is an fantastic way to spend an evening. You will be watching recently graduated post-secondary actors and actresses from across Alberta perform live theater.
  • Where: Princess Island Park – 27 Prince’s Island Park (along the path)
  • When: June 23 to August 16 on Tuesdays 7 to 10 p.m.

Calgary Stampeders vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats

  • What: The Calgary Stampeders face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The Calgary Farmers’ Market: Chef Guided Tour

  • What: There will be a chef to guide you through The Calgary Farmers’ Market. For up to 12 guests at a time, there will be hot coffee, all tasting samples, recipes and a shopping bag included in the tour.
  • Where: The Calgary Farmers’ Market – 510 77 Ave SE (off Blackfoot Tr SE)
  • When: Saturdays May to October from 9 to 11 a.m.

Dinosaurs In Motion At TELUS Spark

  • What: See how dinosaurs moved when they were alive in the TELUS Spark temporary exhibit. The combination of art, engineering and innovation has created a fun way to engage with 14, magnificent, life-sized reptiles.
  • Where: TELUS Spark – 220 St Georges Dr NE, Calgary
  • When: Until June 28 on Sunday to Friday 10 to 4 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Join Pages On Kensignton For Free Storytime

  • What: Come with your kid(s) and listen to classic stories being read from books that are sold in the bookstore.
  • Where: Pages Books – 1135 Kensington Road NW, Calgary
  • When: Every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., Storytime will break for the summer after June 24th


  • What: Remember the WRECK CITY project that happened 2 years ago, where an entire neighbourhood was turned into chaotic, creative and original pieces of art? WRECK CITY is back with DEMO TAPE. DEMO TAPE is a mixture of art and music housed into one old penguin car wash! 50 different artists, musicians, writers, and performers have been working on the project for a month.

Kids Grow

  • What: Kids Grow is a collaborative, community based program run by volunteers. Kids Grow is geared towards getting kids involved with community gardening. This is done through a workshop, that has crafts, games and activities.

  • When: Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, June 6 to August 29
