National Geographic Live: Extreme Planet

  • What: Photographer, Carsten Peter, takes you on an electrifying journey into some of our planet’s most extreme environments. He has rappelled into active volcanoes and chased monster storms in Tornado Alley, capturing dramatic images of places few humans have dared to go.

Everything New is Old Again

  • What: The Young Canadians are taking current hits and twisting them into the musical styles from the last two decades.

Tim William’s Solo Show

  • What: Tim’s live solo shows (he also works with his band, the Electro-Fires) are a trip down the river of North American music…blues, ragtime, old-time country with dashes of Mexican and Hawaiian influence, performed on a variety of string instruments.

Calgary Underground Film Festival 2016

  • What: The Calgary Underground Film Festival, or CUFF, will be showing 30 feature films at this year’s festival. It’s the 13th year the festival has been going on in Calgary and the not-for-profit organization is known for programming films that defy convention.

  • When: April 11 to 17

Star Wars – A Galactic Rock Comedy

  • What: The Jubilations Theatre presents Star Wars: A Galactic Rock Comedy. Be transported to a galaxy far, far away with the iconic Star Wars cast singing 70’s and 80’s rock tunes. The ticket price includes dinner and assigned seats. Call 403-349-7799

  • When: Now until April 24
  • Cost: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday $67.95
    Friday and Saturday $77.95.

Theatre Junction Grand’s Concord Floral

  • What: Concord Floral is a place where teens can go and be themselves not to mention it’s a million-square foot greenhouse in a suburb of the city. In the play, ten young adults flee to the greenhouse when a plauge visits their neighbourhood.
  • Where: Theatre Junction Grand – 608 1st Street SW
  • When: Wednesday April 13 to Saturday April 16
  • Cost: $45 or $27 for students and artists under 30

Koi Presents: Sarah Pearson

  • What: Enjoy the energy and rhythm of live music at Cafe Koi. This week musician Sarah Pearson takes the stage.

The View from Behind Bars with Piper Kerman

  • What: Best selling author of Orange Is the New Black and inspiration for the Netflix show of the same name, Piper Kerman is coming to Calgary to talk about her journey. The night is about finding another chance and emphasizes the need for reform and restoration.

The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra

PianoMan Live Blues Happy Hour
