Calgary Flames

  • What: On Tuesday the Calgary Flames face the Washington Capitals. Then on Friday the Calgary Flames face the Detroit Red Wings.
  • Where: Scotiabank Saddledome – 555 Saddledome Rise SE
  • When: Tuesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. and Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m.

Restaurants For Change

  • What: In one night, 13 cities and 50 restaurants will participate in Restaurants For Change with the goal to support the right to healthy food for all Canadians. Show your support by making a reservation at a participating restaurant.

  • When: Wednesday, October 21

Proudly They Served: Canadian Women’s Army Corps in WWII

  • What: Learn about the Canadian women who played a role in WWII at Lougheed House’s exhibition.
  • Where: Lougheed House – 707 13 Ave SW
  • When: October 21 to January 31; Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

¡Celebrate Argentina!

  • What: Explore the tastes of Argentinian wines created by the master chefs at charbar. The net proceeds support Alberta Theater Projects.

Dress for Success Calgary

  • What: An annual fundraiser whose aim is to make a difference in the confidence and financial independence of women getting back into the workforce. The evening includes cocktails, entertainment, a silent auction and more.

Fluid Festival

  • What: The Fluid Festival is two weeks of live music, performances, workshops, talks, and installations — moving and activating the people of Calgary with art.

The Container

  • What: A play based on five people who want to reach England to start a new life but must do so inside a freight container. The Container won the 2007 Amnesty Freedom of Expression Award.
  • Where: University Theatre – 210 University Ct NW
  • When: October 20 to 24 at 7 p.m., October 25 at 2 p.m., and October 28 to 31 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 for adults and $15 students/seniors (available at the door).

Virtue and Vice Masquerade 2015 Wings of Hope Gala

  • What: A swanky Halloween-themed gala, the Virtue & Vice Masquerade soiree will help raise money for the Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
  • Where: Hotel Arts Spectrum Ballroom – 119 12 Ave SW
  • When: Friday, October 23 from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Cobb’s Corn Maze and Family Fun Park – Freaky Fridays & Flashlight Nights

  • What: Ever wanted to go to a corn maze when its dark outside? Well, now’s your chance thanks to the Freaky Fridays & Flashlight Nights currently taking place at Cobb’s Corn Maze.

The Crucible

  • What: A play based on the Salem witch trials about a lurking evil in the Salem Massachusetts community.

Grim Manor

  • What: Grim Manor, Calgary’s newest Halloween attraction, is a haunted house with a backstory that will leave you with goosebumps.
  • Where: Sunridge Mall – 2525 36 Ave NE
  • When: October 15 to October 31; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in October from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

 Halloween at The Fairmont Banff Springs

  • What: Join the historic hotel for an exclusive heritage ghost tour of the famous Fairmont Banff Springs.
  • When: Friday, October 23 to Friday, October 30

Calgary Ghost Tours

  • What: Halloween is the perfect time to enjoy the creepy tales served up on this Calgary ghost tour.

  • What: ScreamFest is one of Canada’s largest and scariest Halloween events. Experience eight haunted houses, carnival games and more.

ILLUMINASIA garden and lantern festival

  • What: Come see authentic Chinese lanterns that will light up the zoo. There will also be authentic Chinese, Japanese and Indian entertainment and programs.
  • Where: Calgary Zoo – 1300 Zoo Road NE
  • When: Now through to Sunday, November 1; 7 to 10 p.m. (Thursday to Saturday) and 6 to 9 p.m. (Sunday)
