  • What: Grammy-winning John Mellencamp is going to be playing at the Jubilee.

  • What: This is a band that laughs at danger and breaks all the rules. They have played in 50 states and 29 countries.

  • What: Rush provides a life time of influential music and now they are in Calgary for their R40 Live Tour. After 40 years together they have 20 gold and platinum studio albums.

Captain Cruises

Glenbow Museums: Out for Lunch Tour: Myth Making: The Art of John Brocke

  • What: Curator, Douglas Maclean, explores one of the most fascinating artists out of Calgary, John Brocke.

  • What: The Fiestaval highlights and advocates for the Latin American Culture through multicultural arts and entertainment. It’s a free 3 day festival full of various activities and promotes multiculturalism in Calgary.

  • When: Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19 at 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Market Collective

  • What: It’s an Independent Market that promotes local arts and culture and empowers our community towards positive growth. Showcasing hundreds of local artists, designers, artisans and musicians. MC was founded in 2008 by Angela Guerra.
  • Where: Chinese Cultural Centre- 197 1rst Street SW, Calgary
  • When: Friday, July 17 at 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday July 18 at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday July 19 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 per person and kids get in for free

Cabinets of Curiosty

  • What: Exhibit inspired by the 17th Century tradition of “Wunderkammer” (wonder-rooms). The collections are essentially precursors to museums, full of exotic curiosites, thrilling and macabre items and the natural wonders of the world.
  • Where: Glenbow- 130 9 Ave SE, Calgary
  • When: February 28, 2015 to January 17, 2016; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
  • Cost: $15 admission, seniors and students $10


  • What: 10 days dedicated to the most loved environmentally friendly vehicle, the bicycle. There are different events to participate in each day of the festival.

 The Canadian Badlands Passion Play

  • What: The Play is in Drumheller huddled in a natural ampitheater. The play projects the life of Jesus from his birth, resurrection and his death.

  • When: July 10 to July 26, Fridays 6 p.m., Saturday July 11 and 25 at 6p.m., Saturday July 18 at 3p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

 Music & Market Square

  • What: Every Thursday expect to see an event. This Thursday will be the 2nd annual Stampede Hangover Picnic Freak. There are always fun things to do such as dance, meet new people and, of course, eat and drink.
  • Where: ContainR Park in Sunnyside
  • When: Thursday July 16 at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Pay what you can, proceeds go to the artists
