A moment of peace and quiet has become even more valuable these days.

One of Calgary’s prime places to relax, the Devonian Gardens at The CORE, has been closed to the public these past few months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the expansive indoor greenspace opened its doors to Calgarians once again on Monday, according to a tweet from the City of Calgary.

“We’re thrilled to welcome you back to Devonian Gardens today! We’ve been working hard on additional cleaning and security practices to make your visit safer during COVID,” reads the tweet.

“Now this is in place we are pleased to offer citizens access to a slice of nature within our downtown core.”

As noted in the tweet, the garden will be operating under public health measures, including asking guests to maintain proper physical distancing, wear a mask, and practice responsible hand hygiene.

Both the playground and the climbing wall will stay closed, as they are high-touch surfaces, and the Devonian Gardens will only have two of its entrances open to allow security to count visitors.

Those hoping to enjoy the tranquility of the gardens can enter through the elevator and escalator.

Devonian Gardens is open during the same hours as The CORE, from 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5 pm on Sundays.
